Poker Poem

For the Joy of the Game by Pegasus
A sweat bead wiggles down your temple
As you swallow down that ever-present lump
You push at those mirrored shades
Til they're cuttin' into your schnoz.
Checking and re-checking your cards
As you hound-doggedly check-raise
Dead-pan poker facade
Til your face stays frozen like that.
Oh, the joy of the game!
Butterflies fluttering like mad deep in your gullet
Heart racing and then stopping dead
All for the Joy of the Game.
A sweat bead wiggles down your temple
As you swallow down that ever-present lump
You push at those mirrored shades
Til they're cuttin' into your schnoz.
Checking and re-checking your cards
Dead-pan poker facade
Til your face stays frozen like that.
Oh, the joy of the game!
Butterflies fluttering like mad deep in your gullet
Heart racing and then stopping dead
All for the Joy of the Game.
